Phoenix Movers Spotlight: Alliance Moving & Storage

Today I am spotlighting a company called Alliance Professional Moving & Storage.  They are a company based out of Phoenix that offers everything from across-town moves to cross-country moves.  Originating in Phoenix, they have been in the moving business for around 12 years.  Alliance Professional Moving & Storage uses services from both Brothers Moving and Pride Moving.

As far as services go, Alliance offers to pack your things for an additional cost.  They also offer to move large and fragile items like pianos and antiques.  If you need boxes and moving supplies, they can deliver those to your home for a price of $100.

I had the pleasure of talking to one of Alliance’s sales representatives and getting some information on their company.  I asked what the easiest way would be to get a bid from Alliance, and he said the easiest way would be to have a sales representative come out to your home free of charge and assess what you need moved.  There is an online bidding option through their website, but this representative said that making a house visit is the most helpful because homeowners have so many questions about their particular move.  Because I’m not actually moving soon, I went ahead and got a quote from their website.  I said there were 3 furnished bedrooms, a garage, a family room, a living room, and an office.  The total price came out to be $792.

I also asked about any guarantees the company gives should something happen to items that are moved.  He said that Alliance offers to customers a Full Value Protection Plan that can either be priced at .60 cents per pound per article, or an overall price that can be quoted when the sales representative comes to your home.

Alliance Professional Moving & Storage prides themselves as the only company in Phoenix to be a member of the Arizona Green Chamber of Commerce.  This company also has received an “A” rating from the BBB.  All of their employees must pass a background check.

Overall, I’ve been impressed with this company.  The man I talked with on the phone was professional, and I wouldn’t mind him coming to my home to give me a bid.  For my personal budget, $792 is a little pricey.  If I were moving at this time, I would probably get other bids and keep Alliance Moving & Storage in mind. So that’s my evaluation.  Take it or leave it!

Company Spotlights

The professional moving industry is a big one.  There are many companies out there that offer a variety of services and charge a range of fees.  Some companies offer to pack up your things, load it into the truck, drive the moving truck to your new place, and unload it all for you.  Some companies only offer loading and unloading the truck.  When my parents moved to their new home, they boxed everything themselves and hired the movers to pack the truck and unload it.  When my aunt moved recently, she didn’t pack one box.  She had the movers do everything.  That’s my kind of move!  So, you need to decide what your budget is during your move.  If you have a large budget, you might want to consider having the movers do it all for you.  If your budget it small, renting a truck for a day might be your best bet.

Because I know moving can be such a pain, I’m going to go through a number of companies and find out what they offer and if they are a good option to go with.  Seeing these spotlights can help you in your decision of what company to go with.  One less thing to stress about, right?
These spotlights will be for the area of Phoenix. I’ll spotlight nationwide chains, such as U-HAUL, Allied, and PODS.  I’ll also spotlight local companies that are not as well known.  Depending on your needs, those lesser known companies can be a better bang for your buck.  They can also give you the sense of one-on-one customer service that feels so nice at a stressful time.  On the other hand, they might not have great customer service at all, because they don’t have a high-up corporate boss to answer to.

So the next few posts I’ll do will be spotlights.  I look forward to your reviews!
