The doors are delivered in primed state for painting after installation or prefinished with no painting required after installation. Some manufacturers supply doors that are faced with wood veneer providing the natural feel of a wooden door but with the added security.

A home steel security door consists of a steel outer surface on both sides with an inner steel framework. The door frame is also made from steel that is securely fixed into the structural door opening. Each door is usually provided with a multi point locking system and the entire combination makes for a very secure door.
